We recommend using minoxidil two times a day, for this example we will use 1mL (the whole dropper) which will be more than enough for most people because they probably don't have that much facial hair.
We also recommend using the following beard oil for moisturization and faster progress: Beardgaine Moisturizing beard oil and growth serum
Apply 1mL Minoxidil two times a day. Once in the morning, wait 1 hour, use Beardgaine. And then the second time in the evening.
As for the Beardgaine: use as much as needed. Cover all of the skin under the beard.

What Minoxidil to Use
We recommend using Minoxidil topically (via skin) as opposed to orally (via mouth). It has less side effects and is more targeted.
We recommend using liquid Minoxidil as opposed to foam Minoxidil. Liquid absorbs better than foam due to its propylene glycol. Many on Minoxbeards have experienced benefits from changing from foam to liquid [post]. Liquid is also cheaper than foam.
Most brands are exactly the same product and contain the same ingredients. Use a reputable brand, see Brands of Minoxidil from Around the World for examples.
5% Minoxidil is the standard for men. Just make sure it does not contain DHT blockers.
How Much Minoxidil to Use
You should use enough Minoxidil to cover all the areas you want to have beard gains, whether thats more or less than the recommended, just means thats the appropriate amount for you. Remember the recommended amount is for the scalp, not beard.
If you have a longer beard, you’re likely to use more Minoxidil as it’ll cling to the hair. So feel free to trim or shave to be more efficient in your Minoxidil use.
Liquid: The Minoxidil droppers have a 1 ml line as the recommended amount.
Foam: For most brands it is recommended a half cup per application. Foligain and Qgain are exceptions, which is a single pump.
Pre-Minoxidil Cleanse
Feel free to exfoliate, just rubbing your skin while wet to get rid of dead skin is good. Wash or rinse your face to ensure pores are clean. Make sure your face is dry prior to applying Minoxidil.
How to Apply Minoxidil
After you’ve collected the Minoxidil (liquid in dropper) (foam in cap) apply Minoxidil to areas you want beard gains. You can spread it out: using your fingers (clean hands with soap afterwards), using the dropper if using liquid, or another object preferably one that will not absorb the Minoxidil like plastic or metal. One hour after application you can apply your beard oils and moisturizers.
How Often to Apply Minoxidil
You may use Minoxidil daily or twice daily. We recommend using twice a day, roughly 12 hours apart, so morning and evening. Using more than twice daily is a waste of product as the body can only metabolize a certain amount of Minoxidil at a time and may cause more side effects. Minoxidil has a half-life of 22 hours. We recommend using a non-DHT blocking beard oil one hour after every minoxidil application.
What if I Forget to Apply
If you miss an application of Minoxidil, just apply as soon as possible or wait till next scheduled application. If you miss multiple applications, apply as soon as possible. Please don’t ask how long is too long to wait between applications, we don’t know.
How Long to Leave Minoxidil on for
Whether liquid or foam, Minoxidil should stay on for at least 4 hours. Tests have shown 50% is absorbed in the first hour, and 75% by hour 4 [1990]. Though those figures are based on scalp, which has less barrier function [2015], so theoretically the face takes longer to absorb.
How to Store Minoxidil
Store in closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep from freezing.
